We are looking for an Electrochemist to strengthen our R&D team and lead the electrochemical characterization and performance analysis of our micro-tubular solid oxide fuel cells. You will play a key role in understanding, improving, and validating our technology: from single cells to stacks, and turning data into actionable insights for design and materials development.

As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will work closely with materials, mechanical, and electronics engineers to connect fundamental electrochemistry with real-world system requirements, supporting both internal development and collaborative projects with partners and customers.

Your Tasks

  • Design and execute fuel cell testing campaigns (single-cell and stack level).
  • Perform and analyze electrochemical measurements (I–V, impedance spectroscopy, degradation studies).
  • Conduct post-test analysis and reporting to guide materials and process improvements.
  • Collaborate with design and modeling teams to interpret results and refine system behavior.
  • Support collaboration projects by providing electrochemical expertise and test data.
  • Document testing protocols, results, and conclusions in clear technical reports.
  • Contribute to developing and maintaining safe and reliable test infrastructure.

Your Qualifications

  • MSc or PhD in Chemistry, Physics, Materials Science, or a related field.
  • Strong background in electrochemical methods (impedance spectroscopy, polarization curves, degradation analysis) (>3 years of experience).
  • Hands-on experience with fuel cells, batteries, or related electrochemical energy devices.
  • Familiarity with equivalent circuit modeling, data fitting, and interpretation.
  • Knowledge of SOFC operating principles is a strong advantage.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Good communication skills in English, both spoken and written.
  • Ability to work independently in a laboratory environment as well as in a team setting.
